I’m making a goal to learn sing language. Now my question is how do I go about to do this? Do I learn the grammar and structure of the language first (I’m aware that it is much different than English) or do I learn the signs first? How do they teach you in a class? And when it comes to the learning the signs part, how do I learn all of them, there are so many! Please don’t just give me a list of sites, try answering the question. Thanks in advance to all the answers, I really appreciate it.
Oh, and I know the alphabet so far.

many community colleges offer a sign language courses
When I took my first asl class, I learned the vocabulary first. You can’t do much with the grammar if you don’t know the words.
There is a fabulous book, you can probably find it at a used bookstore or maybe on half.com because it tends to be expensive but it comes with a dvd. It’s the book that was used in the ASL class I first took at a deaf college, and also the book that was used as curriculum for ASL 1 and 2 at the university I attend. It’s called “Learning American Sign Language” by Carol Padden
In my classes, we learned the vocab first. Several classes of only vocab were required before we got into sentence structure.
