i live in canada and was wondering if there is a difference between canadian (if there even is one) and american sign language. i want to learn sign language so i can talk to the deaf guy who comes into my work but i don’t know what kind of SL he speaks and i can’t ask him. i’ve seen books on ASL and Pidgin sign language… which one should i get? i want to speak what he probably speaks. (in canada)

In most parts of Canada ASL (American Sign Language) is used, that’s the same used in the states. Although, in the area of Quebec they use LSQ which is conected with French.
I live in Canada and my brother is deaf. He uses American sign language or ASL.
