Compulsory is a dirty word. Optional, yes. Compulsory, no.
I think it would be very beneficial to learn to speak sign language. It is the ONLY language that is completley universal.
i think it should be a choice to take it ,but i agree the choice should be there!
Yes it should then they can eliminate SPANISH!!!
Sign language IS a second language! It should be optional however, so that we can weed out the socially irresponsible, who will be the ones to opt out.
Compulsory, no, any more than taking Spanish or another language should be “compulsory.”
However, I do think that coursework in Sign as intensive as for another language like Spanish or French, should be counted as second language credit in all schools.
