I came across a kit that I was interested in called “Sign with your baby”. I am very interested in it but before I go out and buy it, I want to know if there is a cheaper rout that is just as good if not better. I have 2 toddlers and one infant and would LOVE to teach them to sign (and learn myself). HELP!!!

There is a television series calling Signing Time that airs locally here on PBS. I don’t know if it airs around the country, but it’s helpful in learning to sign. I’ve learned a lot from it and my son has too. They are a little expensive, but you might be able to shop around online or your local library might have a copy of one of the volumes. Have fun!
Well, I would suggest just using the internet. It is really hard to learn sign language from books! Sign language involves movement and that is sometimes hard to interpret from a drawing with a billion arrows and five sets of hands! You could visit your public library and check out some videos about sign language. There is a series called We Sign, and it teaches sign language with nursery rhymes and stuff like that. There are also really good websites online. You could just look up the words that your kids use the most often like:
More, up, down, milk, eat, drink, hungry, thirsty, toy, ball, play, outside, swing, run, walk, stop, sit, bear, cat…etc.
here are the websites…
