American Sign Language interpretation of Bjork’s “I’ve Seen it All” from the film Dancer in the Dark. This was done as part of our final in our ASL class..
That was pretty neat to see my favorite song signed!
I think you guys did a great job. I’m thinking about signing this song with a friend as our ASL final. I would be easy to just base it on yours. haha.
Does anyone on earth besides Bjork knows the lyrics for 2.12
Ive seen the movie and I actually really love this song 🙂 I was just joking cause it seems like shes really miserable and doesn’t want to be there 🙂
“the chick doesn’t seem very happy”
If you saw the movie her emotions might make more sense. Her character is going blind. She has a degenerative disease. She was born with sight and is gradually losing it and knows that eventually she will be blind. Think about the lyrics to this song: “I’ve seen it all there is no more to see” She is trying to rationalize to herself that losing her sight isn’t such a big deal. I wouldn’t expect her to be all that happy.
Good work !
But not enough emotions.
Think about it : sign language is full of feelings.
Thanks (and keep on !)
the chick doesn’t seem very happy 😛
i like you two 😀
Yeah, my wife is a sign language interpreter and I’m certain she would agree with you. The folks that made this had a good idea, but to a deaf person (as I understand it), this performance would be extremely monotone. Sure, the signs carry the basic meaning of the words, but all the passion and variety and life in the vocal performances should be represented in your delivery.
wow that was extrange but i liked
pensei que iria ser uma coisa boba, mas depois que vi gostei muito muito mesmo.
i feel that the girl in the video don’t want to do this.
im amazed
I’m doing this in a couple of weeks!
I’m the guy part. =[
yawn! wheres the expressions and body language!?
i’m deaf and i found this rather boring!
Hee,
I enjoyed this.
You guys are great, but im an interpreter for the deaf; i must make a suggestion though…work on your facial expressions (girl)you looked bored(male)more feeling into it. Other than that small default i think you guys are wonderful keep up the good work!
This is so awesome… well done.
OH MY GOD! THIS IS VERY A,AZING! GOOD JOB GUYS! My father works with deaf people, and this video will be very nice for him!!! Thank U!
i love this song, and even though i dont know really anything about sign language, i think what you did was beautiful! i also think its interesting how, like spoken english, can differ from speaker (or signer) to speaker. the guy seems more emphatic, while the girl seems more graceful. thanks for posting!
This is really good!!! You guys sync really well and your signs are perfect. Did you improvise some of the words? Some of the signs look different from what I’ve learned.
that is awesome!
hey..I love the vid and hope yinz got a good grade but I think yinz need to do some work of the facial expressions! That is very important!
This is soo cool!!
We’re the coolest people ever. I love you :]
