Just added captions! Youtube finally made it easy enough to do.
Wow! Awesome very athletic player! My son is a 10 yr. old DEAF football player for the Waxahachie Cherokees!
I heart martel. great piece. God bless.(:
Martel is an amazing person! Truly inspirational! He has been and will always be successful because of his can-do attitude. We love and miss you here in Tyler, Martel!
Of course I’ll let him know asap! He’s always really happy to know that hes helped people. And, I’m sorry, but I don’t know if I can talk about his career, but if I can, I’ll let you know about what he’s doing.
could you tell martel if you have a chance that he has givin me a new look on life me my self am hard of hearing to. and i was depressed haveing dead thoughts. until my mom has showed me what deaf can do in world. she show me martel and i now see i am not alone in a world. just tell martel thanks! (:
anybody know if he has been working with any nfl teams or what he is doing now? i wish the best for him.
I’m Allie’s (his interpreter’s) daugher. Martel is a really kind, inspirational person. My grandparents are deaf and I know quite a bit of ASL (american sign language) and we can talk easily. He’s a really nice guy and I really think of him as a hero. He’s made it these 4 years and I think he’s already gone above and beyond. It’s really great to see that so many people think this way about him!
I love this video!
INSPIRATIONAL!!
good idea man i used to sit by deaf kids in school at the lunch table and thier inturpeter would teach us basics and the deaf kid definatly appriciated it
My brother is deaf and before i watched this i never really took much time to learn ASL, i just knew the basics but now i’m really going to take time and learn to be able to communicate with him, because i plan on us living together when we’re older.
Martel, Can’t wait to see you in the NFL! You’re a great football player and will be an even greater role model for so many young athletes!
this is a story that has inspired me… im not hearing impaired but i understand what it is like to have to odds against you… he is an inspiration to me and i thank him for his strength and determination.
heres some sooner love for MVZ
I would love to show this to our ASL CLub….the only problem is that there isn’t any sub titles
Good Question, let me see if the copy I have will allow me to record it with captions.
Amazing…a true hero and I don’t use that word often
martel van zant is amazing how he does this a true image of someone who never gives up and never backs down
very inspirational
Great piece. Why is it not open captioned so individuals who are Deaf/Hard of hearing also have access to this piece???
Martel is a great role model for those deaf kids who play football and also it tells us that we can play in big colleges instead of small deaf colleges… (I’m hard-of-hearing and play football too)
Wow! I’ve always been impressed with Martel’s story, but this is a great piece.
