  1. @EmilyGreene1984 Yes annie sullivan had a terrible childhood with no love and compassion. She lost her mother around nine and next her father left and her aunt took her sister but neither annie nor jimmie because they were too difficult, according to ann’s aunt, especially annie, who was seen as a terrifying child. That’s why they were both put in an asylum away from their sister and aunt.

  2. @kpnerysoo Annie was remembering how she was told her baby brother, who was her only family left alive, had died inside the asylum and she is running towards him – hoping he had not. Being blind at the time and no one came to comfort or be compassionate, she was traumatized that she was not there for him while he was dying and devastated when her fears were confirmed.

  3. can someone tell me what happend when ann was having a dream and someone was cryign or somthing

  4. yall should read the book about anne sullivan..i nevr got to finish it but its really good

  5. @Rowan07001484 well the thing is, they didn’t know what else to do anymore. if they didnt let helen do something or not get something, she threw a fit. they didn’t know how to teach her. that’s why they hired Annie in the first place

  6. I read the play freshman yr in HS, & watched this version afterwards, but I’ve also seen the 2000 version as well. Having any type of diability, mental or physical, is not a pretty sight; I should know, because my best friend has a leg disability, but it never stopped her from learning, or even being my friend. This is w/o a doubt, the best play that I’ve ever read or seen, & I encourage everyone to read the play, & then watch it.

  7. I believe you. When I used to visit my grandparents, the feeling there was very chaotic and depressing.

  8. thanks, people dont know what goes on unless you work there or living there. there is some nurses that are good like my mom and some that can care less about a person.

  9. Helen/Patty Duke Looks so cute when she’s riding in the wagon:)! I love patty duke and this movie, it’s such a wonderful film. when i have kids, i will defintly show it to them.

  10. i would never go to a nurseing home. my great grandma she was in one they droped her and didnt even tell us about it until we went and visted and she told us what happend. the nurse took stuff out of her drawer. my mom worked as a nurse at that one where my grandma was. she had a accident she asked was she going to hit her. when i am old and cant take care of myself i would pay someone to kill me in my sleep than go to a nurseing home. my grandma was 93 when she passed a few short months form 94

  11. My mom worked as a nurse in a nursing home, 1970s. Not much better there either. People dropping off their folks and they didn’t unpack their bags because they knew their kids were coming back to get them. Sad. tough and true.
