  1. You may want to pick up the DVD “Signing Times” its a series that teaches children sign language. We have it for our daughter and she loves it–plus it doesn’t drive adults nuts.

  2. ASL is often offered through local colleges. It is very easy to learn and easy to retain. I learned ASL from 3rd through 8th grade as my school had a large deaf population. I still remember a bulk of the signs years later without any practice.

  3. our local community teaches it. i know some signs because my son is autistic and can not talk so they teach autistic kids sign language if they will pick it up. i learned a lot of mine from the books and papers that the teachers gave me but if you went to the local college you would have a certificate that said you took the class. good luck.

  4. My aunt and I found a “SELF- TEACHING” CD Set at WAL- MART AND STAPLES! WAL- MART is 2 CD SET and STAPLES is a 5 CD SET! You could check their ONLINE sites to see IF they are on there or get the PHONE #’s to CALL your local store(s)!!!
