i think their parents show them pictures and such and then do the signs so they realize what is what. i don’t think they do full sentences maybe, just the main points in the sentence like ; the nouns and a verb.
Just like how we learn English or whatever from birth.
People around them use it when talking o them, and show them the signs. Like. They point to an apple and then show them how to say apple.
Also, you mouth what your saying because they’ll start to read lips.
When they can see and stuff, they can learn in some way. I read this in a novel by Stephen King with a character that was born deaf and he learned to read lips.
