Many Baptists believe that if you do not believe in God you are going to burn in Hell. Since Apes can learn sign language they can probably learn to believe in God as well. What happens to the Apes that do believe in God and what happens to the ones that don’t learn of God or that choose not to believe?
Many people here are saying that animals do not have souls and do not go to Heaven. Does that mean that my beloved dog will not be waiting for me in Heaven?

No, animals can imitate and learn, but complex ideas such as God is impossible for an animal.
the belief in some higher existance is strictly a human characteristic.
If you can teach ape sign language, then you can teach them to pray. It doesn’t mean you can teach them faith as we know it.

While I don’t believe that you can “learn” to believe in God; or if that if you could it is at all similar to learning sign language. Work done by Jane Goodall suggests that chimpanzees experience a sense of awe. And that, anthropologically speaking, was at the foundations of the Homo sapiens’ development of religion.
Your statement; “Apes can learn sign language” is meant to suggest more then what is possible. Apes can learn very simple sign language – they lack the ability to use “phrase structure grammar.” Scientist have been working earnestly to teach apes to communicate for 30 years and they have failed to accomplish their goal. They have not and will not be able to teach apes to communicate in a complex manner.
Clearly the rest of your question is ridiculous – apes do not have souls and merely cease to exist after they die. The command to repent and believe is to the human race.
All creatures of nature KNOW their Creator. They know His voice and His ways. You do not have to “teach” animals about God Almighty they KNOW who He is.
They KNOW the purpose of their existence on this earth. They have spirits, but they are mortal. They can learn, love, and be obedient creatures as God asked. But they do not possess immortal souls, when they die so does their spirits.
They do not go to Heaven or Hell…they simply return to the earth.
