Where do I go with Sign Language and education?

I have just started majoring in sign language but have no idea what courses to take besides the obvious ASL 1, 2,3…etc. Is there any schools in New York that offer sign language with education? Also I wanna go abroad with my career but I dont know if that is possible with education.

  1. There are deaf and special needs children all over the US that need a teacher. Here in Houston, our pre-school age special needs classes use sign language to help autistic students communicate. Research local school districts to see what kind of special education programs they have. You could teach a combination of English/Sign Language in another country, perhaps.

  2. you should go to your local church because they often will teach you for free provided that you volunteer to sign during the service every once in awhile.
