The change occured when wwe turned PG, around the time period. The PG rating is irrelevant, it just marked a new John Cena with his new finishers, a slight change to his gimmik.
It changed cuz WWE went PG and it just sucks and most kid dont know the F sign in sign language and have you noticed that the FU changed to attitude adjustment that is just wow I mean alot of kids swear these days so why change it? Also when WWE went PG Cena turned into some kind of babyface and its really annoying I want the old gangsta/ rapper Cena back he was a better wrestler than the Cena right now.
