  1. I dont know of any sights but, im sure there out there. My sil tought my niece sign language as a baby. She bought books and had flash cards that show the signs.

  2. I’d actually try to find a sign-language instructor. We had 5 year olds in my first year sign language class. You could take it with her, and then talk back and forth. 🙂 Also, a good instructor will be able to tell you if there are playgroups or something in the local area (for instance, there were some restaurants in my area that had sign only nights. No one allowed to talk. Really good for getting the language down.)

  3. go to the library and see if they have any videos. My son learned to sign with a series called “signing time”. It is actually developed by the mother of a deaf child ( the child was 12 months old when the concept was developed). There are really catchy songs and skits and all kinds of other stuff. My older kids ( 8 and 12 at the time) used to try and push my youngest ( then 2) out of the way so they could see better! I found that funny since they KNEW the DVDs were so he could learn to sign ( he had a severe speech delay).

  4. you can find good books for it. there are also video dictionaries like asl-pro.com.
videos help too. asl is really easy to learn…in fact, i would suggest that you take a class or something yourself…after the first day you’ll know enough to start teaching her!
