It’s better to learn from books or classes. You can get the idiots guide to sign language, it is pretty good. Also The Joy of Signing. There are different translations of signlaunguage. I would recommend ASL, which is American Sign Language. Remember that it will take a while to learn.
It depends on which country you come from. Learning from books solely is a no-no. It is best to go to a class and be taught by a Deaf qualified and experienced sign language tutor.
