Can anyone tell me what this is about. I’m having trouble telling what he’s saying. I’m a slow learner in ASL.
Can you tell me the sign that appears around 1:40, v tapping your finger. Thanks for your videos, you’re definitely not a “robot teacher”.
Is a robot teacher an interpreter?
I am a deaf robot. My video is coming soon. I have two suggestions for anyone wanting to learn: 1. Never let your education get in the way of your ability to learn something new. 2. Never suppose that someone with less intelligence cannot teach you something.
Just an interesting note. I had watched this video yesterday, and was also puzzled about the same sign. So today I was chatting with a deaf friend(husband is a Gally teacher) and she explained the sign to mean “Hell no” … regional thing i guess!
Hi there. “TOUGH”
Hi Toby,
I’m an interpreter and love watching your videos. Can you tell me what the sign is around 3:58. It is a bent V hand shape on your cheek. I’m thinking it means “someone marked with experience, but I’m not sure. Thanks!! Love watching your videos!!
Hi Toby! I read an article recently that rated ASL as a category 5 language meaning that it is just as hard to learn as Chinese. Many people think ASL is easy to learn…huge misconception!
My first Sign language teacher was a robot…
Later I found teachers, some Deaf, that taught true ASL..
Wow.. big difference
I really enjoy your Vlogs. I learn so much from them. I hope you continue making them. I think many people benefit because your Vlogs..
Thanks
John
i agree with you 100% first i learned some sign language from what you would call a robot teacher and then later/now from a deaf asl teacher the difference was amazing i learned a lot more with the teachers i have now…although i still appreciate some of the knowledge my previous teacher gave me i wish more ppl learning asl could experience the great asl teachers that involve the culture community and different aspects of sign language instead of robot teachers…great video:)
Tough.
it mean great experience or awesome experience, but it s his expression ASL.
it mean great experience or awesome experience or something like that. but it his expression in sign. that s asl stuff
Your VLOG is interesting and I agree with the ASL teaching part. The robot part is not a good expereince and it wouldn’t help the student learn much. By a REAL ASL user who knows ASL and Deaf Culture — Like you mentioned can help the hearies learn much what they deserve to know. I know it is not a easy job, but very REWARDING.
hello — you using sign for “LANGUAGE”. that’s an older sign, right? it’s a great sign!
What’s the sign at 3:56-3:57 mean? (curled-V down cheek)?
