A song sung in sign language about a man who is deeply in love with a deaf-mute woman. He tries to show her he loves her and communicates in broken sign language to her. This great song is called “Mon émouvant amour,” or My Moving Love. From Charles Aznavour’s Carnegie Hall concert DVD..

Hmm, well your answer has such a nice explanation and you were so pleasant I have no option but to agree with you and say thankyou very much 🙂
ehh… I dunno. Compared to the original studio recording, even this is way slower. And I agree, Liza’s is much slower, and she is very effective with her interpretation of this song.
I kinda like it like this, it gives the song a sort of uneasy tempo, which matches with the point Charles is trying to make with his sign language (i.e., in the song, supposedly he is not very adept at speaking it… giving the song a sort of stammering pace like this plays nicely, I think).
I don’t know if it’s because French is longer than English but I just feel that he rushes his songs :(. When Liza sang this she put more heart into it and it was very sad. This is still nice but too fast.
je vous aime si fort!
