Deaf children learning language?

Deaf children living with other deaf children or parents willing to learn sign language who cannot hear well enough to learn speech, and who never see anyone using sign language, will typically:
A. develop signs for nouns but nothing else.

B. develop normal language after skipping the first two stages of language development.

C. fail to communicate until someone teaches them a sign language.

D. make up their own sign language.

  1. If there is a need to communicate, they will most likely make up their own sign language.

    However, if there is no support for the growth of language, none will be acquired. And if they go too long without language, they will not be able to learn one later.
