Do commercials for arthritis medicines.
all i can think of are being a translator of some kind or going into teaching asl to others
You could if you become fluent , be a teacher, counselor , translator for the deaf … There are many fields where knowing sign language would be a plus . Even a supervisor in a factory would be able to supervise deaf people if he /she had American sign .
I worked as a developmental specialist and at every conference, we had an ASL interpreter. I imagine they can make very good money. You can work with children with special needs who cannot communicate and depend on ASL to convey their needs to caregivers.
I once knew someone who was deaf and a psychologist at a school for children who are deaf.
Also, you can work with speech language pathologists teaching infants and parents sign language. I’ve seen that before as well.
To find out what occupations are available to you, you can do a mock search on monster.com or indeed.com. Search “ASL” or “American Sign Language” and see what you get.
Good luck! I always admire people who know ASL, it is so useful…
Teacher, work for the news on TV, although you will only be able to use American Sign Language in America. I am learning German SL now and people tell me there are even dialects for it.
