Not really. Knowledge is a great thing. Besides it’s pretty useful when you are in countries where you don’t speak the language. A lot of the sign language is universal.
Victoria T is right. Besides, you never know when the opportunity to use it might arise.
i think there are over 6 millions deaf people live in USA , right now i don’t understand why you not know any deaf people?
I want to know it too and I don’t know any deaf people. I think it’s interesting!
You certainly don’t sound daft to me. Better to learn sign language than to use your hands and fingers to salute in obscene ways – if you know what i mean. It is not neccessary to know any deaf people, same as it is not neccessary to know any people you hear about in the news, but still keep abreast with what they are up to. If you want to learn sign language go ahead and do it. Knowledge is always a good thing and never a waste of time.
Not at all, I think it´s a brilliant idea! Go for it, the first one, who answered your question, and the others too, said all I wanted to say!
Good luck and I really mean it!
LMAO ROTF—-XD
“woah……. oh my…. well um….
i forgot what i was gonna say…
well its kewl to learn…. yah dun gatta kno no death peoples…
the more you know, Yes?”
^_^
I dont think so. I think it is wonderful you are learning sign language. I have deaf friends and they are delighted when the hearing community wants to learn their language and their culture. By learning sign language you will be able to interact with a deaf person when you see one. Trust me, many are very willing to be patient when you are first learning!
Good Luck!
No it isn’t. I’ve been learning sign language since I was in fourth grade. Me and my best friend would sign across the room during silent times. lol! Now I’m trying to learn common phrases and things. It’s very interesting, and a great thing to learn. I don’t know any deaf people either btw.
Probably you meet one in the future.
