I want to do a sign language interpretation of a song as my talent in a pageant. I don’t know how to sign, all I have is a YouTube video to work with. Any suggestions on how I can memorize the song? I have a few weeks to do so.

Like Indian or ballet dancing, every movement has a meaning and helps tell a story that matches the lyrics. Just try to flow with it. Try finding the pattern to the song (verses, chorus, bridge…), and break the song with the signs into easier to memorize piece. Repetition, visualizing, and practice are the best things you can do.

Maybe you should do something you are naturally talented at rather than try to throw something together that you have no idea how to do? Or, if you insist on signing a song, learn it in bits and pieces and practice each chunk individually until you can get it very well. Good luck! =)
