How do you sign “gingerbread” in american sign language?

I need to tell about the gingerbread house from hansel and gretel for an asl project at school. I can’t find gingerbread anywhere. Other words that would also really help me to know are:
icing
peppermint (or mint)
candy cane
gumdrops

Thank you!

  1. Gingerbread: there is no sign for “ginger”. You can fingerspell ginger and then sign bread. I would fingerspell the whole thing. ie: HOUSE-MADE-WHAT? G-I-N-G-E-R-B-R-E-A-D.

Icing: fingerspell and use CL to show how the house is decorated

    Mint: fingerspell

Candy cane: sign candy and use CL to show a cane shape

Gumdrop: sign candy and use CL to show shape or fingerspell

Not sure what level class this is for, but the important thing is that you paint a picture of the house, showing where the candies are, etc. Don’t worry so much about the signs. Worry more about showing what the house looks like.
