  1. YouTube! Check out some Deaf user’s blogs. Also, attend as many of the Deaf events as you can. Our Community is very friendly and welcoming to students, regardless of their level.

    Also, Gallaudet University has a great summer enrichment program for students of all levels. Students travel from all over the country and the world to expand their ASL skills and knowledge. Good luck!

    ETA: be careful with ASLPro. Not everything is accurate and some of the structure is more English-based. 🙂

  2. she’s absolutely right. Youtube is a great place for this.

    I found it a good language memorization tactic to memorize a song in the language i wanted to learn too. So I would find out how to translate any particular song, and commit it to memory, and it would make the words/phrases in that song easier to remember.

    Also, if you know any deaf people, hang out with them more and have them help you expand your education.

    Those are also great websites to pour over random words you’d like to know in ASL. The first one is all video, since you said you’re visual.

    The second one is half and half, some video, some pictures. Mostly pictures I think, but really good ones.
