  1. What do you mean “there are dogs learning English”?

A cat can be trained if and when she feels like it. Doesn’t matter if you are using hands or words or smoke signals to get the message across – if the command is consistent, the concept relatively simple and the cat sufficiently motivated, it’s possible to use just about any form of communication. But don’t expect it to be easy, or that the cat will be at all interested.

As for teaching the cat to actually do signs.. first you would need to teach the cat to evolve fingers.

  2. Can cats learn to respond to sign language?

    yes.

    Can cats preform sign language?

Maybe. Depends on what you want. Conversation, no. Simple commands, yes. Your cat can teach you to open a can of cat food simply by walking up to the cabinet where it’s kept. If that isn’t sign language, I don’t know what is.

  3. Please tell me this is a joke. I’m smart as can be(and no, not egotistical) and I can’t learn sign language.

  4. Maybe but they don’t have fingers like we do so it might be hard for him/her to form some of the formations, Good Luck!!!!
