I have been teaching myself sign language for a while now but I’m not sure if it’s going to do me any good once I get into a 4 year college (Rock Valley College, IL). Does anyone know if it could be considered a second language in this school? Or any other specific schools?

I don’t know about where you live, but I’m from NJ and it is considered a second language. I’m a 2nd year student who is interested in being an interpreter down the line. If you can practice with any deaf people in your community that will help you feel more comfortable should you decide to enroll in an ASL course at your local college/university.
Good luck!
