Sign Language Lessons, Information, Product Reviews and Tips to Get Started Learning ASL
I want to learn but am not even sure who I would contact about learning signing. Any suggestions as to a web site or an organization that could help? THANKS

It is pretty easy. My mom taught it to my daughter. Call a disablity organization or your local college. That’s where my mom learned it from
Most places online want you to pay or take courses. But I did find American Sign Language (ASL) has an online dictionary where you can type in a word, and they show you someone signing the word.
Yes, it’s easy, you just have to want to do it. As for lessons or anything like that, I’m not sure where to find them. You can try a book from the library, their sure to have something. Or you can Google it, that always works. 🙂
yes it is easy to learn… you can find books on it at your local library or bookstore….. i don’t know about who to contact though… but you can also find some sites on the internet to help you learn.. just type in sign language or how to learn sign languange… something like that
Sign language is no more difficult to learn than any other language, though it does require pretty good manual dexterity.
One thing you have to know. There are many different sign languages. The U.S.A has two, Signed English, and American Sign Language. Signed English is just signs for English words, and it follows the same word orders as spoken English. American Sign Language (ASL) was developed based on the sign language used among Native American tribes. It is a different language and has different grammatical rules than English. Other countries have their own sign languages.
Look up local schools for the deaf in your area. Many offer classes for the hearing also. After all, it’s difficult for them to learn our languages, but easier for us to learn theirs.
