is the i Love you sign in sign language the same as the rock on sign?

i know that i Love you in Sign language is with your thumb out, but is there many different meanings for the rock on one? what does it mean when it’s backwards? or what is exactly forwards for the rock on one? thanks for the help!

  1. I think the difference is that the pointer and pinkie only are for “rock on” just like here in Texas it means “hook ’em horns”(Aggies). The thumb out does definitely mean “I love you”.

  2. It depends on the context, palm orientation, location, and movement.

For example, if you are signing it palm in with a downward movement, it could mean bulls***.

It could also refer to UT-Austin, or any number of things.
