Star-Spangled Banner in American Sign Language (ASL, National Anthem, Fourth of July, July 4th)

www.WestwoodASL.com This video still needs some work – way too much ghosting around the edges compared to my other videos. However, I wanted to get this video out to celebrate July 4th. If I can fix the ghosting problem I’ll upload a better one later. This version of the Star-Spangled Banner in American Sign Language is a simplified one that I teach my ASL students. I have made a few minor changes in this version compared to the older one to make it more accurate. Enjoy! “Skin (Sarabeth)” Rascal Flatts in Sign Language

Please read, lyrics, etc…This song is dedicated to the inspiring Drew; his daughter, Adriana; the love of his life, Jennifer; and the friend they have lost, Jess. Drew, you’ve waited so long for this; thank you for your patience. You and your family will remain in my prayers. Your absolute devotion to them through all that you are going through is the true inspiration. Thank you for the reminder to make each day count. I also took classes to learn Signed Exact English (SEE), not out of disrespect for Deaf Culture and ASL, but because I wanted to learn to communicate on all levels. SEE is used in schools (at least in my area) to teach young children who are also learning to read. In fact, our local Children’s Hospital was looking for SEE interpreters. I started signing to songs with my daughter for fun, and then did this song, my friend’s fav, for her birthday. At the time, I had no idea how to use or incorporate ASL into song w/o losing the meaning and rhythm. So, I came up .
