Fireflies by Owl City in ASL
I love love love this song. It is so magical, and even though it was a lot of work to sign and edit, I had a blast doing it! PS I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE MUSIC OR MUSIC VIDEO CLIPS. NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED! ENJOY!! 🙂 (Lyrics) You would not believe your eyes If ten million fireflies Lit up the world as I fell asleep ‘Cause they’d fill the open air And leave teardrops everywhere You’d think me rude But I would just stand and stare I’d like to make myself believe That planet Earth turns slowly It’s hard to say that I’d rather stay Awake when I’m asleep ‘Cause everything is never as it seems ‘Cause I’d get a thousand hugs From ten thousand lightning bugs As they tried to teach me how to dance A foxtrot above my head A sock hop beneath my bed A disco ball is just hanging by a thread I’d like to make myself believe That planet Earth turns slowly It’s hard to say that I’d rather stay Awake when I’m asleep ‘Cause everything is never as it seems When I fall asleep Leave my door open just a crack (Please take me away from here) ‘Cause I feel like such an insomniac (Please take me away from here) Why do I tire of counting sheep (Please take me away from here) When I’m far too tired to fall asleep To ten million fireflies I’m weird ’cause I hate goodbyes I got misty eyes as they said farewell But I’ll know where several are If my dreams get real bizarre ‘Cause I saved a few and I keep them in a jar I’d like to make myself believe That planet Earth turns slowly It’s hard to ….
How can I learn American Sign Language fast?
I just moved to a community for the developmentally disabled (about 60 people, including residents and workers), and the one lady uses sign language and is completely deaf, but nobody, including all of the workers, knows it. It’s American Sign Language. I think it’s really sad because she signs at people and nobody understands her. She can’t write at all. I think it must be lonely, and I want to learn to sign so I can talk to her. I can’t get classes because nothing’s around here and I can’t drive and they don’t give me much money. Thanks for all your help.

Our LEO club is going to held a learning sign language activity. 2 friends and I are going to teach those members. Sure we have learnt the sign language from the center. But I dont know where to start and how to make them interested in it. How should we draw the teaching schema up? Or any website to aid me? Please give me some advices?

What is your sign language or deaf studies experience?
Survey questions for all of you who have received certification or degrees in the deaf studies and/or american sign language field:
-Where did you get your certification/degree?
-What type of job, if any, are you using it for now?
-How many hours do you work each week?
-What is your average rate of pay (hourly or salaried)?
Thanks!

Anyone know a SITE I can go on to learn Songs in American Sign Language?
I’m trying to sign the song, “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” from the Lion King for my friend’s little brother. But learning word by word isn’t all that helpful I’ve been finding out. Does anyone know a website I can go to that has the song already translated? Where I can just watch a person sign it while I listen to it????
I know that’s a stretch but it’s possible, right??
