What do you know about carpal tunnel and Sign language?

I have been told that I may want to reconsider studying sign language as my career path because many interpreters develop carpal tunnel! Is this true?? Is there anything I could do to prevent it? Exercises? Any preventative actions?

Thank you, any help would be great : )

Jehovah’s Witnesses, If you learn Sign Language will you?

Jehovah’s Witnesses, If you learn Sign Language will you learn more deeper and understanding in the Bible?
First let me explain why I asked. When I read whole luke then after that I watch (American Sign Languages) on DVD (LUKE) and it really does explain better than what you have read in the Bible and it is deeper but deeper than English. It just like deeper in the roots.
If you learn how to Sign Language will that make you understand it better than what they have taught you?
I know I might be weirdo but when I read the Bible it is all good but in (ASL) seem explain deeper than what you think.
So, have you all ever think about learning Sign Language?
I would like to hear from you.
TY!
I know, I want apologizing to you all , (ASL) is my first language, but what I am saying it is really does explaining deeper than you think.
Leslie H = Thanks! I try my best.
Rustic B = What are you talking about????????
I am not here to compare other people or color of skins or females.
All I was talking about Sign Language , can you read?
Rustic B = I am not here to judge people! Are you trying to stir up the trouble?
Rustic B = Thank you.

After mastering the material for Rocket ASL, what can I do to perfect my sign language?

I recently bought the Rocket “MegaSign” program to learn sign language and absolutley love it. I know the alphabet now, and am working on learning as many signs as possible. I am wondering though, after I know all the signs on the program (it has a dictionary on 1000 words) what is the best way to continue learning sign language? What are the best programs or websights? Thanks so much!

why do deaf people need to learn sign language?

Ok so today I was just wondering this. Why do deaf people need to learn sign language?
I mean I’ve never seen a person ever do sign language in my whole life until like 2 weeks ago when I was on vacation with my mom and sister in Japan, and I saw this lady on the monorail do sign language to her husband. ( I think ) Then I wondered why does she need to learn it if deaf people can still talk? Isn’t sign language like something that deaf people speak with? And since they can’t hear, isn’t there this thing called a hearing ad? And is it hard learning lips? Because then if some people could, then that must be cool because then it’ll be like regular talking. Just a little harder.

So why would deaf people need sign language when it’s only used to talk. Can’t they talk but not hear?
Lol, I just reambered this,

That deaf lady that I saw in Japan that was doing sign language, she noticed that I was looking at her as if I was really confused because I have no clue how to speak sign language. Then when she nocticed, she did this motion with her hand then a shake-a-shaka thing. ( you know like that thing that you do with your hand were you put down three of your fingers: the middle, the pointer and the ring finger? then you shake your hand.) And stuck out her tunge. I thought it ment hi in sign language. lol
oh wow, I’ve neverd heard of being born deaf and that when your born deaf the person can’t hear the words being said so they need to lean sign language, oh wow thanks you guys answerd this question fast lol.
oh wow, thanks I neverd knew why they need to learn sign language. now i know thanks you guys

Was it hard for you to learn sign language? How long did it take for you to teach your child?

My 2 year old has been having hearing troubles for the past year which has made it difficult for him to hear and pick up on language. Since he is 2 and can’t communicate with us, we are trying to learn sign so we can help him express what he wants. He has picked up on it pretty well so far, he is able to sign more, please, help, drink, candy all within a period of a month, so I am really glad that we’ll be able to help, but I was wondering how hard it was for you to learn yourself and teach your child how to learn sign language. I’m not sure how I should be teaching him either…should I be saying “do you want to eat?” or just “eat”. Or “Let’s go to bed” or just ‘bed’? Any advice would be great if you have any expierence in the matter.

Thanks!
