I hear that everywhere i go and it kinda discourages me. It makes me feel like if i try to learn or tell ppl about it, i’m automatically considered retarded just fortrying to learn because i’m 20. I mean everyone wants to learn something and get it right away but of course it doesn’t happen like that and i’m a pretty dedicated and driven person. i don’t just give up when things get hard or frustrating….i may take a break and come back to it later lol but i don’t just quit whatever i’m doing.
I wanna learn Spanish, German, Japanese, and Sign Language but right know i’m taking the ones in order of practicallity. Like i WAS learning German because i plan on going back to Germany again one day (used to live on a military base there for 4 years when i was a kid) just to redo everything like tours and stuff since i don’t remember them (all i have are pictures) and because i’m in love with this german band Tokio Hotel, but then i was thinking maybe i should switch to Spanish since there are ALOT of spanish speakers here in America and it would be more beneficial. Then i was thinking about learning German or Sign Language next then Japanese.
Or maybe i was thinking about learning at least 2 of them together at the same time. I’ve been learning Spanish on and off since i was 5 (but i don’t know that much) and a month ago i was learning German but then ppl would look at me weird when i told them that and would say “what for?” I don’t know. What should i do? Anyone know any good learning techniques or websites or books?
Oh yeah, i know words in both German and Spanish and can put together basic sentences only using those words but i don’t know anything as far as grammar.
Also do spanish speakers really use the forms of nosotros and vosotros and stuff like that often cuz i was having trouble with that back in high school (had THE worst teacher ever).
Oh yeah and i know about how spanish has 2 diff. genders and is easy to spot but not so much with German, which has 3. I was told i just have to remeber them as i learn. I was wondering does German have ANY conjugations like that’s and it’s cuz i watch a German show with subtitles and anytime “we’re” or “I’m” is comes up in the subtitles the person speaking doesn’t say that, they ALWAYS say “Ich bin” but i also hear weisen and i think that’s we are but what is it technically?
SOO sorry this was long, lol, i was venting through the beginning and then started getting curious in the middle till now, lol
