Why are gay men interested in learning sign language?
It seems like all the gay guys in two universities I’ve attended always seem to take a special interest in ASL. Why the obsession? And FYI: yes, they are hearing!

i live in canada and was wondering if there is a difference between canadian (if there even is one) and american sign language. i want to learn sign language so i can talk to the deaf guy who comes into my work but i don’t know what kind of SL he speaks and i can’t ask him. i’ve seen books on ASL and Pidgin sign language… which one should i get? i want to speak what he probably speaks. (in canada)

Ok, I have done some research and have found a good amount of online courses that look good to learn sign language, and get you certified, but does anyone know which is a VERY good online course??

Have any parents taught their baby sign language?
I am interested in teaching my daughter sign language. I don’t think she is old enough yet, but if any parents out there taught their children to sign, how old were they when you started? Can you recommend a good book on teaching young children sign language?
My daughter is 15 weeks old, or 3 1/2 months.
