I really enjoy sign language but is it practical and applicable in todays job world. I am majoring in criminal justice and sociology so would it be helpful in a law enforcement path?

Your incorporation of ASL into a law enforcement career would be VERY helpful for the Deaf/HH witnesses and suspects, etc. but you might find yourself more often in a conflict of interest situation because the interpreter must remain neutral. However, depending on if you like working with people – there is a need for social workers…
Also there is ALWAYS a need for skilled ASL Interpreters, I interpret full-time in the Washington DC area and am happy as a clam and making a good living!
