Sign Language – a short film

We’ve been shortlisted!! PLEASE VOTE FOR OUR FILM HERE: www.reed.co.uk It only takes two clicks. If we win we’ll spend the prize making a new film. If you really like it then spread the happiness and tweet, facebook or just stand in the street with a sign. What happens next? What’s Ben’s new job? Watch the Director’s Cut to find out: www.youtube.com Also – you know the drill by now – please rate, comment and favourite. “My workplace is wonderful, and I want to share it.” …these are the opening words of Ben – a man who holds a sign for a living, and loves his job more than almost anything. But today is his last day. Made for the Reed.co.uk workplace film competition. Thanks to everyone who helped. Love the soundtrack? Course you do – listen to more by the ingenious Lampwigg here: www.myspace.com IMPORTANT NOTE FOR REED ABOUT THE DURATION: Before the video is played, youtube inexplicably reports it as 3:01 long. It’s not. When it’s played, the counter corrects to 3:00. The file we uploaded is a fraction under 3 minutes, so we’d be heartbroken to be disqualified because of an issue on youtube’s side. Thank you. xo..

  1. tht was so nice. i feel rlly positive now 😀
enjoy the little things, dont like without regrets and take those risk! Carpe Diem!

  2. It made ME cry. I admit it’s simple & cheery, some might say hamhanded…but shorts have to be blunt… no time for subplots! Plus this contest is about capturing the charm of a certain job. It was a bit sad because something he loved was ending. Sounded like he was going into mgmt, likely because of money. To me that seems like a tragedy. Even if you disagree on that, there’s still a loss: a happy past traded for a no-guarantees future, &we’ve all been THERE at grad, pet death, empty nest etc.

  3. What an amazing film. I’ve been wanting to break into live action filmmaking, and it’s videos like this that encourage me to do so.

Everything about the video looks professional and kudos to Jethro for some amazing acting.

I’ve voted for you guys and hope you win. I’ll be subscribing and I look forward to seeing your future work.

  4. Entertaining techniques. But too cosy, too nice. What here could possibly make you say ‘it made me cry’?

  5. PHENOMENAL. This should be up for a freaking Oscar! Love it! From the other side of the pond….

  6. Thanks to Stumble Upon, I found this wonderful film just in time.
