left-handed sign language?

I am learning sign language, but I’m also left-handed so my natural instinct is to do all of the main movement with my left hand. Is that correct? Do you think if I signed to a deaf person they would be able to understand even if it’s backwards? .

does anyone have any suggestions for books for a left-handed person trying to learn american sign language?

i’m probably the most left-handed person in the world. all the books i have seen on ASL are diagrammed for right-handed people, but i find them confusing. .
