  4. I should start uploading my ASL humor. Specifically, I make fun of unqualified interpreters, which, unfortunately, there seem to be too many of.

    Note: Certified does not equal qualified, nor does qualified equal certified.

  5. “vagina” looks like a pizza slice. Also, some people sign pizza with the same sign as “pie.”

    On a related note, my boss and I practice ASL together at work – he asked me once if I’d eaten dinner yet, because he needed to know if I had to be sent on break before the cafe closed. I tried to tell him I’d eaten before work, and he gave me a really confused look, then started laughing. It took me a second to realize that while I meant to sign “lunch,” I accidentally said “(I had a) lesbian.”

    I wish we had a Deaf Pizza Night! The mistakes new signers make are hilarious. My class is constantly signing “b***h” instead of “speak.” Twice now, one of the students has signed “penis” instead of “pink,” and once, somebody signed “a*****e.” I’m not sure, but I think they were trying to sign “French,” lol.

  9. i just started ASL not a week ago
    for my ASL 1 class in 9th grade. the first day i was in there i learned the difference between hungry and horny, work and sex. she justifies it by telling us it’s to save us from embarrassment, haha

  10. It would be more fun knowing about this video if I had a deaf friend I could show it too.

  11. One of my friends constantly confuses the signs for pizza and lesbian and then hungry and horny. She definitely told an entire room of Deaf people once that she was extremely horny. I could not stop laughing!

  13. My ASL teacher taught us all the dirty signs right off the bat specifically to avoid that kind of thing lol! But this is so true and so funny!

  14. Haha this guy is brilliant, love how expressive he is, it’s great. Very few comedians can get me laughing from just a video but he had me rolling.

  16. I love it…. reminds me of the time I went into a fast food joint with a friend and the kid behind the counter asked if we wanted to try her cherry pie. Unfortunately, the signs she used had nothing to do with fruit or pastry and everything to do with what was in her pants. I declined, and my friend to mess with her head asked how many slices she had served that day. OUCH!
