  1. If you’re talking about American Sign Language (ASL), then the first thing to do is learn the alphabet. Here’s a link:

    just remember that the J is the same as the letter i but you move your pinky finger as if you were tracing a hook and the Z is literally tracing a Z in the air.

    then go to youtube: one of the best ways to learn anything, especially languages. Here’s a starting point:

  2. I became a good friend to a deaf ASL (American Sign Language) signer. We sign together sometimes for four hours straight, and he corrects me on every mistake I make and shows me how to do the signs correctly. I also supplement my sign-language learning with various books on ASL. However, if you want to learn ASL, watch out! There are a lot of books that don’t teach true ASL but teach PSL (Pidgin Sign English) or SEE (Signed Exact English), which are more like visual representations of English. So it depends on which form of sign language you want to learn. Anyway, my sign-language skills have improved tremendously by doing this. I hope this helps!
