Does anyone have any creative tips or know of any free resources to help me learn sign language?
(That is, beyond the usual “practice your finger-spelling over and over and over”…)
Thanks.

My girlfriend’s aunt is legally deaf, so I’ve pretty much been immersed in ASL since I was 16 because I’m usually over her house after I get out of school and our families get together on holidays because her aunt and my dad are good friends. I’d say the best way is to have someone who is either deaf or REALLY GOOD at signing, or if this is not really the option there are a lot of bookstores that carry DVDs and instructional books on how to get it down quick. I have to say although I haven’t mastered it yet, it’s pretty fun and easy to learn.
You miht want to go take a class
If you are going to learn it through a class, take your ASL class with another person with whom you can practice (such as a friend, neighbor or family member.)
