  1. Well, I used a book called sign for kids by Laura heller to get me started (even though it was aimed at like 2nd graders) It really helped to know some basic signs and helped me to understand the other books I used. Then I used The American Sign Language Handshape Dictonary Richard A. Tennent and Marianne Gluzack Brown. It was really easy to use and very helpful. Both books include tons of signs (the second has a 1000 I thinK) The books will only let you become semi-fluent and pick up new signs, a real person is best so you can understand better and do the motions properly. You tube has some great videos. Hope this helps!
