I’ve been taking a sign language class at my current high school and love it. I get really good grades in the class and my teacher, who is deaf, want my friend and I to be interpreters. I think it’d be an interesting experience to travel and interpret for the hearing and non-hearing.

You may want to find some knowledgable Deaf people who are involved in interpreter education and get their opinion on a good program. You will also have to consider if you want to move out of the area or attend closer to home. Also, here in Canada, many colleges and universities publish their success rate in graduates finding a job in their field. That may help.
Good luck!
For ASL –
Gallaudet University is the very best choice, it’s an all-deaf college and I KNOW if your teacher is deaf he or she will have heard of it (And probably gone there)
They don’t accept hearing people except for special circumstances / interpreter majors like yourself.
